Chef Geoff Tracy Moving to New York City

Chef Geoff Tracy—owner and mastermind behind six Washington, DC-area restaurants, including—is moving to New York City.

Tracy's wife, Norah O'Donnell, recently accepted a new job as co-host of CBS This Morning, a morning news show the network started earlier this year to replace its "perennially last place morning show, then called The Early Show,"The New York Times reported.

But, fans are not to worry. The restaurants that bear his name—and two Tracy-owned establishments that don't—will continue to operate, with Tracy checking in frequently.

Tracy, who has lived in the Washington area since 1991, told Washington City Paper that this was "an opportunity that as a family we just can't give up." He added that he'll stay in DC full-time until January, when he and his three children will move to New York City, but that he'll keep his DC house to use when he checks up on his restaurants.

Tracy isn't sure if he'll open a restaurant in New York—"I would never say no to anything," he told the City Paper—but "it's a little outside his main plan, which is to open 10 restaurants all within 10 to 15 miles of each other," City Paper reported.

Tracy's newest restaurant will open in Rockville on Wednesday, .
