The Montgomery County Agricultural Fair has only a nine-day run—not a whole lot of time for one person to sample all the culinary goodness (sweet, salty, fried and otherwise) that the fair has to offer.

Nevertheless, intrepid Gaithersburg Patch editor Greg Cohen tried out about $60 worth of fair fare— (see the )—so that he could tip us off to the best bites.

Three Sides:

Getting a taste of Chesapeake Bay cuisine will be easier than ever very soon, when a new restaurant—The Grilled Oyster Company—opens up in Potomac's Cabin John Mall, in the space formerly occupied by Pomegranate Bistro, . The restaurant will serve dishes such as grilled oysters, fish, crab, mussels and Old Bay fries. 

Rick Dugan—who owns the new restaurant with his wife, Valerie Dugan—told Potomac Patch that the restaurant will have a soft opening on Aug. 29, provided that all of the necessary permits come through. A grand opening celebration may be scheduled for a few weeks later.

The popular  is going mobile with three three refurbished red, 1948 International Harvester KB-7 trucks to act as pizza kitchens on wheels, . The business will be called the Tomato Flyer Pizza Co., and will park at private parties and events, serving pizza as well as salads, gelato, coffee and espresso, according to Bethesda Magazine’s Table Talk blog.
