Back to School: City of Rockville Distributes 410 Backpacks Full of Supplies
The bags were given to families in need at 13th annual Back to School Jam.
The City of Rockville distributed more than 400 backpacks full of school supplies during its Back to School Jam at the Lincoln Park Community Center on Saturday.
At a charge of $1, the bags were given to families in need. City officials said roughly 410 bags were distributed. More than 650 attended the event.
Monday was the first day of school for students attending public school in Montgomery County. According to MCPS, more than 150,000 students headed back to the classroom.
