Evenings are cooler, skies are clear and tonight looks like a perfect evening for a “Concert Under the Stars” by the Rockville Swing Band at the .
The concert, sponsored by the city’s Senior Citizens Commission, is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free.
An email promoting tonight’s show promises conductor Rob Putt leading the band in “some great new charts” and singer Michelle Killian singing “popular old favorites.”
An audience of 150 or more is expected. While there will be no dance floor, there will be room for dancing, said Wendy Krassner, a Senior Center staff member.
“It’s going to be a wild time,” Krassner said. “A good time will be had by all.”
The stars should be out, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Chairs will be provided at the concert space behind the center at 1150 Carnation Drive. Tea, lemonade, cookies and cakes will be available for purchase.
Registration is helpful, but not required. Call 240-314-8810.
