Rock Band, Former NHL Star Will Kick Off Ice Rink Opening

Rockville Town Square Ice Rink opens Friday

It’s almost time to lace up the skates. Rockville Town Square Ice Rink is set to celebrate its opening Friday, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Town Square, 200 E. Middle Lane.

Here’s the line up of events:

6 to 10 p.m.—Live performances by The Lloyd Dobler Effect

6:30 p.m.—Opening ceremonies with Tommy McFLY from Fresh FM, the Capitals Red Rockers, Slapshot and former NHL star Alan May

6:45 p.m.—Special skating performance by junior ice dancers Michael and Rachel Parsons

7 to 11 p.m.—Ice Rink is open for general skating

7 to 8:30 p.m.—Autograph session with NHL star and former Capitals player, Alan May and meet-and-greet with Slapshot

7 to 9:30 p.m.—Mingle with Tommy McFLY and the Capitals Red Rockers

7 to 9:30 p.m.—Fresh FM and The Fan promotional team will be onsite with prizes including a Caps ticket giveaway.

 

Rink hours:

  • Noon to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday
  • Noon to 11 p.m. Friday
  • 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday
  • 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday
  • Extended hours on Holidays

 

Skating Rates:

  • $7 (12 and younger)
  • $8 (13 and older)
  • $3 Skate Rentals
  • Family Season Passes and Individual Season Passes are available.
  • Discount cards are available, as well.
