Lemony Snicket Author Comes to Rockville Barnes & Noble

Daniel Handler is expected to sign copies of latest book at event next week.

The author behind the Lemony Snicket series is scheduled to visit the Barnes & Noble in Rockville on Wednesday.

According to the bookstore’s website, novelist Daniel Handler—who writes under the pen name Lemony Snicket—is expected to discuss and sign copies of his new book, “When Did You Last See Her?,” which is due for release Tuesday according to the book’s publisher.

The novel is the latest in the new Lemony Snicket series “All The Wrong Questions,” a prequel to the 13-book series “A Series of Unfortunate Events.”

Annette Klause, a children’s librarian who buys books for the Montgomery County Public Libraries, told The Gazette that the Snicket books are popular with kids because the author strays from saccharine plots and doesn’t talk down to his audience. 

A movie based on “A Series of Unfortunate Events” was released in 2004, and starred Jim Carey and Meryl Streep.
