Last Chance: VisArts Exhbit Leaves for Afghanistan Soon

"Crossing the Distance" exhibit concludes Sunday.

An exhibit featuring the work of emerging contemporary artists from Afghanistan and the United States will make its final run at VisArts in Rockville before traveling to its next perch—Babor Garden in the Queen’s Palace, in Kabul.

The "Crossing the Distance" exhibition concludes Sunday, March 31, and will be shipped to Kabul in April, according to VisArts.

VisArts describes the exhibit as a mixed-media show that “crosses the boundaries of geography, time, culture and politics.”

The exhibit was curated by Rahraw Omarzad and Susan Main.

The featured artists are the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and the Center for Contemporary Arts Afghanistan.
