Si Dolce e'l Tormento: The Story of Orpheus & Eurydice

Weaving the most powerful story of lost love through narration, song and music, we are excited to present a retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice tale through the beautiful and moving music of Monteverdi, Handel, Cesti and Pergolesi. Join tenor, Terrance Johns and Soprano Deborah Sternberg as they journey through Ovid's tale of a man willing to go through hell to return his love to the land of the living. With special guests Tad Cavuoti (portative organ), Lisa Ehrenspeck (violin), Amy Domingues (baroque cello), Anthony Harvey (theorbo), Allison Roulier (narrator), Daniel Walshaw (theorbo) and Lisa Zargarpur (flute). Admission is free, but a goodwill offering to help defray costs and support the Christ Episcopal Church Choral Scholarship Program is gladly accepted.
