Grandreaders Day at the Library

The JCA Heyman Interages Center, in partnership with the Montgomery County library system, will host an intergenerational reading day at the Aspen Hill library on June 19th from 11a - 1p. Children ages 5 - 7 are invited to attend the event, pick out a favorite book, and spend time reading with a caring older adult volunteer from their community. All of the participating volunteers are part of a program sponsored by Interages called Grandreaders, which brings people ages 50 and better into the public schools to read with second grade students. Preregistration is required for the event and can be done online by going to http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/Apps/Libraries/branchinfo/ah.asp and clicking on the Programs and Events link. For more information on how to volunteer as a Grandreader, contact Tricia Wilson, Assistant Director of the Heyman Interages Center, at  301-949-3551.
