Bethesda's Essay & Short Story Contest

The Bethesda Urban Partnership and Bethesda Magazine have partnered to honor writers at the Bethesda Literary Festival, April 15-17, 2011. 

Young adults (grades 9-12) and adults (ages 18+) can enter the Essay & Short Story Contest and write a 500-word essay about a moment of epiphany, or a 4,000-word short story about any topic.  First place winners in each category receive $500 and will be published in Bethesda Magazine.  Cash prizes for second place, third place and honorable mentions.  For more information, please visit www.bethesda.org.
