Vietnam Veterans to Share Stories at Rockville Libraries

Twinbrook and Rockville Memorial libraries will host reflections on the war's aftermath.

As the nation pauses to honor military veterans this month, two Vietnam veterans are discussing their experiences during programs at Montgomery County Public Libraries in Rockville.

Jane McCarthy will present “Reflections of an Army Nurse on Serving in Vietnam.” The talk, featuring a slide show, will include McCarthy’s experiences with posttraumatic stress disorder.

A founding commissioner on the Montgomery County Commission on Veterans Affairs, McCarthy has worked to help soldiers facing PTSD issues upon their return from Iraq and Afghanistan.
