A movie based on the DC-area sniper attacks of 2002 is set to be released in theaters next month.

"Blue Caprice" premieres in select theaters on Sept. 13, according to the film’s website. It details the sniper attacks that left 10 dead in Washington,  Maryland and Virginia.

The film’s name is a reference to the blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice sedan that convicted shooters John Allen Muhammad and John Lee Malvo used during the attacks.

Isaiah Washington plays Muhammad and Tequan Richmond plays John Lee Malvo, according to the film’s official website.

The film’s synopsis from producers described the movie as a “harrowing yet restrained psychological thriller about an abandoned boy lured to America into the shadows of a dangerous father figure.”

Local show times have not yet been listed for the film.

Someone shared a similar sentiment on Facebook: "Zero desire to pay to relive this."

Yes Tiffany...it would be akin to having several "root canals" and then several years later go and watch the procedures being performed on the "big screen"..........and to add insult........fork over some hard earned cash to view the procedure.........noooooo thanks!!

I lived through it - don't care to relive it
