Metrorail News: Red Line Weekend Track Work

Red Line trains will single-track between Takoma and Forest Glen this weekend.

Metro crews will work on the eastern branch of the Red Line this weekend, according to Metro's Web site.

"Throughout the weekend, Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont stations. Customers should allow 15 minutes of additional travel time," the site said.

Between 10 p.m. on Friday and closing on Sunday, Red Line trains will single-track between the Takoma and Forest Glen Metrorail stations "to allow for station platform reconstruction and fiber optic cable installation," the site said.
