5th District Police personnel will speak to parents, students and other community members at Damascus HS (25921 Ridge Rd, Damascus, MD 20872) about the opiate addiction problem in Montgomery County. Get the facts at this meeting, and on May 3, tell the Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Advisory Council what you want them to do about it. The AODAAC is coming to Damascus HS in response to a presentation at their January meeting that brought this problem to their attention (see seperate event post for May 3). NEITHER EVENT IS SPONSORED BY DAMASCUS HS OR MCPS.

Special Hearing to discuss what to do about "Reports of Increasing Use of Heroin and Opiates" in the County. The hearing is open to the public and will be held tomorrow, Friday, April 27th at 9:30 a.m. in the County Council Building, at 100 Maryland Avenue, on the 7th Floor.

The TSP has a big insurance policy to cover swimmers. Not sure free is appropriate. As a private membership pool, there are regulations that must be followed.

No matter my children's age, I make it a point to know the running times of the movies they're at, especially if I am the one who is going to be picking them up.
We warn children--especially girls and young women--not to go to strangers for help. We know that of the three girls, the man kidnapped one who was his daughter's friend after giving her a lift.
