Chinese Food on Christmas? Not at This Rockville Synagogue
Tikvat Israel put a new spin on its Christmas meal.
Passing on the custom of dining on Chinese food, nearly 70 congregants turned out at Congregation Tikvat Israel in Rockville on Christmas evening for a Mexican dinner with spinach enchiladas, veggie tacos with all the fixings, quesadillas and churros for dessert. The meal was followed by screenings of three age-appropriate films. The event was organized by Tikvat Israel’s youth and families department.
