fundraiser was a tremendous success, which included a silent auction with all proceeds going to

support RSCC educational, cultural, artistic, historical, geographic and music programs as well

as its continuing mission to promote peace, while developing lasting and meaningful exchanges

through mutual respect, understanding and cooperation.

Nearly 50 people attended the event, which included notables such as Rockville Mayor, Bridget

Newton, Rockville Councilmembers, Virginia Onley and Julie Palakovich Carr, as well as

former Rockville Mayor Susan Hoffmann.

Speaking of the event, Mayor

Bridget Newton stated,

“Congratulations to Rockville

Sister City Corporation on yet

another successful event. And my

thanks to RSCC for continuing to

build bridges and forge

relationships among all peoples.”

Former Mayor Susan Hoffmann

gave the event her unqualified

endorsement, “Terrific party.”

Wines from Germany, France, Italy

Spain and Portugal were sampled

by enthusiastic attendees. An

assortment of tasty hors d'oeuvres

was also available.

RSCC President Brigitta Mullican noted, “The great part of our wine tasting event was that we

attracted some people, who had never been in the Historic Glenview Mansion and they were able

to enjoy the National Capital Art Glass Guild “Secret Life of Glass” exhibit now on display, as

well as visit our dedicated Sister City Room.”

Members of the RSCC Board all pitched in the make the event a success, none more than RSCC

Vice President, Jack Rodgers, who said, “It’s a lot of work, but it’s well worth it. Our guests

enjoyed themselves and had a good time. Our community, our country and our world need the

positive influence of everyday citizens reaching out to neighbors near and far. Organizations,

such as Rockville Sister City Corporation, make that happen. We’re already looking forward our

next Wine Tasting Fundraiser.” ■
