Garden pros to teach basics at Crown during free event
It’s the perfect time to get outdoor spaces ready for summer. Join the pros from Johnson’s Florists and Garden Centers at Crown from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, to learn the basics of urban container gardening.
Learn how to enliven small yards, decks, rooftop terraces and other outdoor spaces with beautiful container gardens that can be both beautiful and functional at this free event. The pros will demonstrate how to create four kinds of gardens, including a Chef’s Delight Pot with flowering plants, herbs and edibles; a Fairy Garden using small plants and decorations to create a fantasyland; and a WOW! planter, a whole garden in one pot.
In addition, three University of Maryland-certified master gardeners will be on hand to answer general gardening questions. Enjoy refreshments and take home the knowledge, and some supplies, for creating the perfect planter.
