National Women Build Week

Wine Tasting Event featuring HandCraft Wines

GAITHERSBURG, MD (April 26, 2012)—Women volunteers representing “The Build Generation” will raise their hammers at Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country in recognition of National Women Build Week, May 5- 13. National Women Build Week is a nationwide initiative of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program developed in partnership with Lowe’s.  In Montgomery County, Maryland, volunteers will work on a two-day project helping weatherize a home for a low-income family suffering from the costs of high utilities.  Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County’s (HFH-MC) will be looking for 4 volunteers each day to help on this project.

 Further, the HFH-MC Women Build committee will also be hosting a wine tasting on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Lakeland Clubhouse in Gaithersburg.  The event will feature HandCraft Artisan Wine from California, as well as a silent auction with a wide variety of exclusive items for bid.  This will be the first time these wines have been served in Montgomery County.  Tickets to the event are $30, with all event proceeds benefitting HFH-MC’s Women Build program, which helps with the fundraising and construction of affordable homeownership opportunities for low-income families in Montgomery County.
