 . Working primarily in oil\, the artist uses subtle colors and smooth tr
 ansitions to capture the effects of light and lend a sense of calm. Her 
 paintings invite viewers to climb ancient steps\, walk through tall gras
 ses\, contemplate lake reflections\, marvel at dramatic cliffs\, and fee
 l the tides against distant shores. Even urban scenes feel quiet as if l
 ost in time.\nPace has studied art locally and in Italy. She drawsinspir
 ation from extensive travels\, including overseas workshops with artist 
 colleagues. Twice selected as artist-in-residence at the Stone Tower Stu
 dio at Glen Echo\, she exhibits her work regularly at Waverly Street Gal
 lery inBethesda and numerous other locations in the mid-Atlantic region.
