Kite Decorating Contest
Meadowside Nature Center, 5100 Meadowside Ln, Rockville, MD | Get Directions »
$25.00
Meadowside Nature Center is turning 40 this year and one of the ways they are celebrating is by hosting a kite decorating contest. However, it’s more than just your average kite contest. At Meadowside they are crazy about birds of prey—love to talk about them, teach about them and care for them. So, what better way to celebrate an anniversary than with a contest honoring these magnificent birds?
The Nature Center will supply the kite kits, you supply the creativity!
Design catagories:
- MOST REALISTIC: Most closely resembles a bird-of-prey native to Maryland
- MOST FANCIFUL: The most unique, fun ,and/or creative expression of the birds-of-prey theme
- MOST “GREEN: looking for the next best “trashformation”. All materials used decorating the kite would otherwise be trash.
Winning kites will be displayed in the lobby of Meadowside throughout their anniversary year. The kite kit fee will provide support for the raptor program at Meadowside.
Stop in to pick up your kite kit, or visit MeadowsideNature.org for more information.
