Information for 2013 History Conference

WHAT:  7^th annual Montgomery County History Conference --  A day filled with informative sessions on local history topics of interest to researchers, historians, students and teachers, the general public and the generally curious; professional development for volunteers and staff at history organizations.  2013 topics include the keynote session on the History of Science and Technology in Montgomery County; Desegregating Montgomery County Public Schools; Memorializing the Civil War in Montgomery County; History for Kids; A Tangled Web: Researching the Enslaved in Montgomery County; Archaeology in Clarksburg, Maryland; and Women Who Dared. The closing session will feature a rousing, interactive theatrical program on the War of 1812, including local events.

WHEN:  Saturday, January 26, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

WHERE:  Johns Hopkins University’s Montgomery County Campus, 9601 Medical Center Drive,
Rockville, MD 20850

COST (includes all sessions and workshops, continental breakfast, and catered box lunch):  Montgomery County residents $50; Others $55.  Students with ID $20.
