I posted a link to my last blog post on my Facebook page. One of the comments there led me to a video titled "Reflections of Motherhood."
The video's description: "We asked moms if they could go back to before their first baby, what would they tell themselves. These are their answers. Everyone in the video is a mom :)"
The video made me smile and laugh and reflect on my own experience. Two of my favorite lines:
- "You are about to meet true love." So true! I look at my daughter every day and tell her she's the best thing I've ever done. I couldn't love anyone more than I do her.
- "Take time to fit back into those jeans." It made me laugh. But the message—to take time for yourself—is so important. And not one that I heeded as much as I should have in that first year.
Every new mom and soon-to-be mom should check out the video above, then comment below with what you'd put on your poster.
Mine would say: "You're about to meet the best thing you'll ever do in your life." Or: "It's OK to cry because you don't know what to do to get her to stop crying."
