Rockville city police took the plunge on Saturday. But it’s not too late to support their efforts to raise money for Special Olympics Maryland through the annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge.

The team raised more than $4,000 and has raised more than $18,000 in its four years of participation, the release said. As of Tuesday evening, K-9 Boomer has raised $2,410 through donations to his personal donations website. The team is still accepting donations.
This year’s plunge has raised more than $1.9 for Special Olympics, according to the plunge website.
Rockville city police support Special Olympics Maryland throughout the year, and have sent medal presenters to the winter and summer games, the release said.
