Police Search for Rockville Girl Missing for More Than Two Months
Maria Ann Ward, 17, may be in the company of a man, police say.
Montgomery County police are asking for the public’s help in finding a teenage girl from Rockville who has been missing for more than two months.
Maria Ann Ward, 17, of the 500 block of Baltimore Road, was last seen on Aug. 1, according to a county police news release. Police released a description and photo of Ward on Friday.
Ward is described as white, 5 feet tall, and weighing 130 pounds with brown eyes and medium-length black hair.
Ward is known to frequent downtown Wheaton and Washington, DC, the release said.
Police and family are concerned because friends and family have not seen or heard from since her disappearance Aug. 1, the release said.
Since then, detectives said they have been following leads from family members and friends. They also have investigated social media-related leads.
“To date, none of these leads have presented any information to detectives about Ward’s whereabouts,” the release said. Detectives recently received information that Ward may be in the company of an adult male.
Anyone with information regarding Maria Ann Ward’s whereabouts is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department’s non-emergency number at 301-279-8000. Callers may remain anonymous.
