Rockville residents turn out to celebrate Hometown Holidays.
This year marked the 23rd annual Rockville Hometown Holiday celebration. With tents covering displays by nonprofits, musical performers, an art and craft festival, teen party, rides for the kids and some of the best food around, it was easy to feel festive in Rockville Town Center.
From kids in strollers to teens and adults performing, there was a lot to do and see. The Chen family was there to have some fun and celebrate. They took time to chat with the Buffalo Wild Wings mascot. Kristina and Alexandra Wilder, grateful for the fans and breeze, were on hand to perform with Miss Chianti's Dance Studio. Querida Escalera, face painted like a tiger, checked out the nonprofit organizations tent on Maryland Avenue.
Several groups performed dance routines on East Middle Lane while bands played at a variety of locations and the younger kids enjoyed rides and bounce houses in the parking lot that serves the theaters and restaurants on East Montgomery Avenue. Over by the Regal Cinemas there were tents with jewelry and art for sale at the art and craft festival.
The Taste of Rockville on Maryland Avenue was jammed. With tickets for sale at booths and food available from restaurants like Armand's, Austin Grill, Bombay Bistro, Branded '72 and Kickin' Chicken there was more than enough great food to be found.
Opposite the food booths were booths for Rockville businesses like Gold's Gym where you could spin the wheel and win a prize. You could also sign your name to a banner thanking our veterans.
