Memorial Day is almost here. For many of us the holiday marks the start of the outdoor barbecue season. To enjoy a relaxing time in the yard or at the park all you need is a grill, table and chairs, fresh ingredients, and a barbecue recipe.

Try these ideas to get you up and running:

• For recipes, Food Network’s got you covered with Bobby Flay grilling videos. More of an Alton Brown fan? Check out his Grilling 101. Still not finding what you need? Grilling Central has it all.
• If the Food Network is just not doing it for you, Weber has plenty of recipes and tips at Grill Out and Kingsford offers their take on Grilling.
• Feel better with a cookbook in hand? Get one from the library or check out the grilling section of any of the local bookstores including Barnes & Noble on Rockville Pike.
• Once you’ve got the recipes, you’ll need the ingredients. Get fresh local produce every Wednesday and Saturday from the Rockville Town Center Farmers Market or from the King Farm Farmers Market. • Of course, you’ll need a grill. You’ll find a wide variety at various price points, along with outdoor furniture, at Lowe’s in the Kentlands, Home Depot on Shady Grove Road, Patio.com on Rockville Pike, and Offenbacher’s on Randolph Road.
• To ensure your barbecue is safe, the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service offers safety tips to avoid mishaps.

Prefer to have friends and family over without standing over a hot grill? Consider catering from local restaurants. Here are three to try:

• Rocklands Barbeque offers grilled and barbecued chicken, brisket, leg of lamb, pork, and Italian sausage for pickup from their location in the Wintergreen Shopping Center or delivery using their catering menu. Tents and chairs can be rented for catered events. 
• Branded '72, formerly O'Brien's Pit Barbecue, offers authentic Texas barbecue. They use hickory wood to slowly smoke meats, poultry, and fish.  The catering menu includes brisket, sausage, corned beef, ribs, pork, turkey, chicken and a whole hog. Delivery is available for a nominal charge.
• Urban Bar-B-Que Company goes by the motto: "The only thing we take seriously is the food," and offers starters such as Urban's Buffalo Wings and corn dogs smothered in "Redneck Fondue." The menu includes wings, chili cheese fries, salads, ribs, burgers, corn dogs and kids items. Wash it down with Texas sweet tea and a piece of Jessica's Key lime pie.
