Rockville Town Square welcomed its latest food offering on Saturday with the grand opening of Mr. Smoothie.
The shop, at 33-G Maryland Ave., serves smoothies, frozen yogurt, juices and other frozen treats.
The grand opening celebration on Saturday featured a ribbon-cutting by Rockville City Councilman Tom Moore and free and discounted smoothies.
It is the first Mr. Smoothie franchise in Maryland. Eleven other cafes operate in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania under the Mr. Smoothie name, which was founded in 1996.
