Can I ask in any way is this lunch menu being more "nutritious" for our children?

- Chicken nuggets
- Chicken patty sandwich (does not say fried or grilled)
- Hot dog
- Pizza

The breakfasts sound somewhat decent but I'm thinking the lunches if they including a small amount of celeray sticks, green beans, grapes, etc. are probably NOT being eaten by children.

Not being a parent - can one chime in here - do the weekly menus from MCPS show the calorie count, the fat %, the sodium %?

They do have the calorie counts: http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/foodserv/menus/pdf/eng_elem_nov.pdf. As a vegan, I often look at the menus in terms of what is there for vegans/vegetarians. Some days look a little hit-or-miss, so if I was a parent, I'd probably look at the menus carefully, and plan for bag lunches around them. But, that's only speculation, since I'm not a parent...
