Boston – (August 8, 2012) – Murphy & King, PC announced today that Attorney Sid Pandit has been named Shareholder of the firm. Pandit has been an attorney at Murphy & King since 2008 and practices in all areas of Intellectual Property law, focusing on patent litigation, due diligence, opinion work, and prosecution.

Pandit represents clients in patent litigations around the country and conducts IP due diligence and evaluation of IP portfolios for corporate mergers, acquisitions, and bankruptcies, where he has evaluated patent and trademark portfolios and assessed open-source copyright issues. In addition, Pandit acts as the in-house IP counsel for a Maryland based telecommunications company.
Over the course of his career, Pandit has prepared and prosecuted foreign and domestic patent applications and has rendered patentability, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions. In addition, he has prepared and prosecuted trademark applications.
Pandit previously served as a Clinical Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland Law School, where he taught Intellectual Property law. Prior to his teaching stint, Pandit was a guest lecturer at the University. Pandit is admitted to practice in Virginia with the District of Columbia bar application pending. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and in the Eastern District of Virginia.
Pandit graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and received his Juris Doctor from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. He resides in Rockville, MD.
