2012-2013 KINDERGARDENERS
FOREIGN LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAMS AT MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Dear Families with Children who are 3-5 who are entering kindergarten this year or next:
This is a REMINDER that next year's kindergartners' Language Immersion Programs application deadline is April 13, 2012. Open houses are currently going on.
Montgomery County Public Schools have several full and partial language immersion programs in French, Spanish, and Chinese. They are excellent programs that lead to fluency in a foreign language and generally better performance overall for program graduates.
Application Process for the Elementary Immersion Program
The immersion lottery process application dates are between February 1 to April 13, 2012. Each immersion school has several open houses during that time. Parents may participate in the lottery process using the Elementary Immersion Interest Form, which became available February 1, 2012, with directions and information on the MCPS website. For more information, please see: http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/curriculum/specialprograms/admissions/immersion.aspx

My daughter is now at B-CC but I HIGHLY recommend the French immersion program at Sligo Creek! Fantastic staff and program. She's quite fluent (not native but pretty conversant) now.
